My name is Lauren Jordan and I am a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Colorado. I love what I do and believe in the medicine I practice. Since I was 18 years old, I have set out to be part of a profession in which I can help people. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Integrative Therapeutic Practice from Metropolitan State University. I went on to receive my Masters of Science in Acupuncture at Southwest Acupuncture College. I graduated in April of 2019. I have been practicing acupuncture since August of 2019.
I practice TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). I ask numerous questions about your health, from your pain to your digestion. I gather information from you to help identify systems in your body that need support. I form a diagnosis from my intake with you and further clarify diagnosis by checking your wrist pulses and asking to look at your tongue. I check your pulses to feel for both the width and depth of the vessel, this tells me about any excesses, deficiency, heat, cold and much more. Your tongue is a map of your body systems, I can identify different imbalances just from having you stick out your tongue. Fascinating, right? In practice, I utilize acupuncture needles, infrared heat lamps, fire cupping, gua-sha, electrical stimulation and bodywork (shiatsu/tuina). I discuss lifestyle changes with my patients, dietary changes and give recommendations for supplementation that can help support you.
